Press-release

International Children's Song Contest Eurovision-2016 will be held on November, 20, in Valletta, Malta. This country hosted the popular song forum two years ago. In addition, the representative of Malta was the winner of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015.

It should be noted that this year the European Broadcasting Union as the organizer of the international competition has made some changes. This year the competition will be held on Sunday in the daytime.

Many countries, including those not participating in the contest, have commented that the prime time on Saturday evening is not really suitable for the children and family audiences, this is why we have listened to these opinions and changed the schedule, - says Executive Supervisor of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest Jon Ola Sand.

A number of innovations will be introduced in the format of the competition. All the details will be announced at a press conference of the European Broadcasting Union on May, 12, in Stockholm.

Belarus participates in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest since its beginning in 2003. The first Belarusian participant at the music forum was Olga Satsiuk. Our country has won the competition twice: in 2005 Ksenia Sitnik won the contest with her song We Are Together, and in 2007 Alexei Zhigalkovich won with the song With Friends. Last year, Ruslan Aslanov was the fourth with the song Magic.

Exclusive broadcaster of the International Junior Eurovision Song Contest and the organizer of the national selection for the contest is Belteleradiocompany as the country’s only member of the European Broadcasting Union.
