Especially for the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory radio "Belarus" is preparing a new project "Bells of Memory" - a series of programs reflecting the tragedy of burnt Belarusian villages, including the symbolic Khatyn. A series of special episodes will expand a series of programs, devoted to the heroism of the people during the Great Patriotic War, which can already be heard on radio "Belarus".

The "Bells of Memory" is a kind of appeal to the international community: we must not forget the lessons of history, it is necessary to honor the memory of the victims and to prevent the repetition of tragedies that unfolded in the Belarusian Katyn, in the Czech Lidice and French Oradour-sur-Glane.

According to the director of radio "Belarus" Naum Galperovich, the creative team of "Bells of Memory" wanted to preserve the truth about the Great Patriotic War for future generations and talk about the price the Belarusian people had to pay for the right to live freely on their land. Thus, according to the latest historical research, more than 9,000 villages were destroyed during the Nazi occupation of Belarus, 600 of them were extinguished together with the residents.

The first episodes of the special series "Bells of Memory" can be heard in April in the air of international radio "Belarus" and on the Internet in seven languages: Belarusian, Russian, English, German, Polish, French and Spanish.

Radio "Belarus" has been working since 1962. The total daily amount of original broadcasting is 26 hours. It broadcasts programs on the political, economic and socio-cultural life of Belarus.
