Belarus has never provoked its partners to confrontation. This was stated by political scientist, deputy of the Minsk City Council of Deputies Vadim Borovik in the "Panorama" program.
A distinctive feature of Belarus as a Central European state with an open economy is a very balanced, calibrated foreign policy, said the deputy. "We have always tried to act as donors of stability, to promote the peaceful resolution of any conflicts," he emphasized.
The political scientist recalled that partners in the West proactively imposed sanctions against Belarus and made political demarches. "We, in turn, have visa-free travel, it's such a soft power of Belarus. We always speak from the position that one should agree with neighbors, negotiate, respect each other," he explained.
Vadim Borovik:
"We have clearly defined our national interests in the world. We respect the national interests of our partners. Belarus is ready to cooperate on a mutually beneficial basis with those partners who respect us and consider our national interests," said the deputy.
