Belarus ranks 30th in the international ranking of the Sustainable Development Goals among 166 countries under consideration. The final document of the Second National Forum, which became a significant milestone in this process, has been published as an official document of the UN General Assembly.

This was announced today by Mr. Sergei Khomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic. The meeting is a precursor to the Summit of the Future in New York, where Belarus will be represented. Today they discussed challenges and threats in achieving sustainable development. Attention was also paid to the impact of sanctions and strengthening the role of youth in achieving the SDGs.

Sergei Khomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus:

There are no such problems as poverty, hunger or gender inequality in Belarus. They simply do not exist. And the Belarusian education system is an example, as representatives of different countries say. These are not pathos words, but reality: we have a state for a man and in the name of a man. Probably, this is the main principle of the Sustainable Development Goals realization.

Belarus is open to the world and ready to implement the best practices. Participation in the Summit of the Future in New York will become a tool for the international community to know about the real achievements of the Belarusian state in socio-economic development.
