President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko does not rule out the release of oncologically ill prisoners convicted of riots in 2020. The head of state said this at a solemn meeting dedicated to Independence Day, BelTA reports.

"Don't be surprised if in a few days our very seriously ill (as they write about them), who did not manage to escape and are in places not so remote, who broke, crumbled the country in 2020, will be released," said Alexander Lukashenko. - They are really seriously ill, mostly with cancer. We take a human approach and treat everyone. A person in trouble, I believe, has no citizenship, and we must help them. Because that's the kind of people we are - Slavs. We don't want wars, we don't want conflicts, but if we get caught, we have to respond.
