The excessive dependence on other states in key and sensitive areas of the country's development is a mistake. Such opinion in the program "Main air" shared the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia Valentina Matvienko.

"Lively, substantive, productive, such a huge potential Russia and Belarus have, both scientific, educational and human potential, as our presidents have talked about. We are far from fully utilizing it," the head of the Russian Federation Council said.

"We can be trendsetters ourselves by combining our efforts, our potential in very important areas of technological, innovative, scientific development," Valentina Matvienko said. - The fact that the presidents of our countries have put this very priority at the top of the list, this is the future. Those who will have their own technologies, their own innovations, successful science, these countries will successfully develop".

According to her, life has shown not only for Russia and Belarus, for many other countries that excessive dependence on other countries in key areas of the country's development, in sensitive areas, is a mistake. "There are key things where there should be technological sovereignty. It is in this vein that we discussed this important topic, including through the regional dimension.
