President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has congratulated the residents of Grodno Region on the 80th anniversary of the region's formation. This was reported by the press service of the head of state to BELTA.
“The Neman Region is a real pearl of Belarus, where picturesque nature, original culture, glorious traditions and ancient, rich history are united in a unique way,” the congratulatory message reads. - Established eight decades ago, in the year of liberation of the republic from fascist invaders, the region is successfully developing today thanks to the hard creative labor of its residents. Agrarian and tourism sectors, industry and nuclear power have become the region's calling card.
The head of state noted that Grodno Region has always been famous for its significant successes in the economy and social sphere, and Grodno residents have always been known for their cordiality, hospitality and special devotion to their small homeland. It is no coincidence that the finals of the Republican Festival of National Cultures are held in Grodno, demonstrating the unity and spiritual cohesion of the Belarusian people, their desire to live in harmony with all neighbors near and far, the President added.
“I am convinced that you can make any fairy tale come true, realize the most complicated project. And we will hear about your outstanding achievements many times,” the Belarusian leader emphasized.
