Donald Trump had a phone conversation with Vladimir Zelensky, writes Politico. Trump called the conversation “very good” and promised to work on negotiating a peace agreement between Moscow and Kiev.
Zelensky's associate said it went “extremely well” and that Trump promised to “achieve a just peace in Ukraine” if he regained the White House.
Zelensky wrote on social media X that he and Trump had agreed to have a “face-to-face meeting” to discuss “steps to make the peace just and truly lasting.”
Zelensky requested the call nearly a week ago after Trump's assassination attempt.
According to the parties, the conversation appeared to be diplomatic: Zelensky congratulated Trump on his official nomination as a presidential candidate.
