Putin believes that Russia's peace initiative is capable of ending the conflict in Ukraine

The peace initiative put forward by Russia provides a real possibility of ending the conflict in Ukraine. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin in his greeting to the participants of the X Primakov Readings, his address was read by the aide of the head of state Yuri Ushakov, TASS reports.

According to the Russian leader, Moscow's proposals are capable of stopping the conflict and moving its resolution to a diplomatic track. Putin also emphasized that many Western politicians did not even wish to delve into the essence of the initiative put forward by the Russian Federation.

For his part, Yuri Ushakov, speaking at the Primakov Readings, said that the Russian side has put on the table a variant "which, if we were ready to accept it, would literally allow us to stop hostilities immediately."

The Primakov Readings scientific and expert forum is an annual international meeting of experts in international relations and world economy. The forum has acquired the status of an authoritative platform for discussing scenarios for the development of international relations, challenges in the sphere of international security, as well as new models of interaction between the subjects of world politics. The jubilee X Primakov Readings are held in Moscow on June 25-26.
