The US is moving heavy equipment from Germany to Poland, specifically to a warehouse in Powidz. The facility is part of a system of depots for U.S. ground forces in Europe.
The unit includes about 100 tanks, 152 infantry fighting vehicles, 18 self-propelled howitzers, as well as guard vehicles, assault bridges and armored vehicles. The transferred equipment is reportedly an element of the reinforcement of NATO's eastern flank by the U.S. military. The depots are located next to the airport, which allows instant airlift of personnel of the armored brigade.
