Heads of EAEU Governments agree on measures to be taken within Union of Five States

10 апреля 2020
Eurasian Intergovermental Council held a meeting in Moscow in a video conference format.

One of the main topics was ensuring economic stability in the context of the development of the coronavirus infection pandemic.

The Heads of Governments of the EAEU agreed on measures to be taken within the framework of the Union of Five States. This applies to the movement of goods that are in high demand today, personal protective equipment, disinfectants, and drugs. Simplification of Customs procedures will be simplified.

Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission: "Issues related to the green corridor, the movement of goods within the country, transport at border crossings will be managed in a light way. The Commission makes operational decisions, together with national governments in order to mutually support each other".
Response measures to the situation with COVID-19 will be discussed by the heads of the EAEU countries in a video conference format next week.

The major point of today was the development strategy of the Eurasian economic integration until the 2025.  Two issues remain unresolved.  They relate to the liberalization of road transport and the negotiation of gas pumping prices.
