Leonid Zayats: The spring sowing campaign in Belarus is over

Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Leonid Zayats said that the spring sowing campaign in Belarus had ended in an interview to the program "Main Air". The emphasis this year was put on technical crops such as flax, rape and sugar beet.

"I would like to point out that we have managed to increase the volume of mineral fertilizers by 1.3 times compared to the last year period and to hold the entire complex of field works within the agricultural terms," noted Deputy Prime Minister.

He also said that the areas sown with sugar beets reached 95 thousand hectares, which is 10 thousand hectares more than last year. Flax sowing has been increased in Minsk and Vitebsk regions against the last year figures in order to increase the capacity of flax processing plants.
