Lukashenko on importance of EAEU: Not all alone would be able to preserve their sovereignty

At the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Moscow, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko called the development of the integration association in the first 10 years a success, BelTA reports.

"Even by the strictest account, we can state that the first 10 years have been quite successful. We have practically reached the final stage of the Strategy-2025 realization," said the head of state.

According to him, the measures taken objectively contributed to the increase in mutual trade of the EAEU member states. At the end of 2023, its growth rate amounted to almost 105%. In absolute figures about $90 billion. And this is despite the continuing difficult situation in the world markets.

"But the main thing is that we have learned to hear each other better. Neither GDP growth nor increase in real incomes would have been possible if we had been apart. And not all of us alone would have been able to preserve our sovereignty. A lot has certainly been done," Alexander Lukashenko said.

At the same time, the President noted that there are no fewer problems and challenges in the integration construction.
