Cargo traffic on Belarus-Turkey route rises five-fold

19 июля 2022
The road freight traffic between our country and the Asian states increased with a breaking record in the second quarter. The flow along the Belarus-Turkey route increased five-fold, and to Georgia  by 4.5 times. Such dynamics is among other results of active work of transport companies to develop alternative routes and other logistic chains. Moreover, in order to maintain the flow and volumes of traffic, the business is opening representative offices in Central Asia and the Caucasus.

If immediately after the closure of the European direction, the main reorientation of the Belarusian truckers was Russia, now we see the interest in the Asian countries. It turns out that working on these routes is much more profitable. It should be noted that there has been no complete cessation of traffic with the EU countries. The freight flow in the directions Poland-Belarus and Lithuania-Belarus increased more than threefold in the second quarter compared to the first quarter. This can be explained by the fact that restrictions on the entry of Belarusian and Russian trucks to the EU did not apply to such categories of goods as, for example, food, energy and fertilizers. And they are in seasonal demand now.

There is a positive trend in the domestic market as well. The number of requests for shipments grew in the second quarter by almost a quarter.
