We have supplied almost 2 thousand tractors and about 80 thousand combine harvesters to Zimbabwe. Exactly a year ago this was agreed during the state visit of Alexander Lukashenko to the south of the African continent.
The negotiations were very productive. But as for agricultural machinery (Africa needs it - crops are harvested here several times a year), the first thousand Belarusian tractors were delivered immediately after the presidents’ meeting.
"I want to thank the Americans and the entire Western world for imposing sanctions against us. Otherwise, it’s not Belarusian tractors, but the American and German ones would stand on this huge field," said Alexander Lukashenko. The thesis of the head of state was supported by the participants of the event with wild applause.
Alexander Lukashenko recalled that in his time the current leader of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa asked for support in the development of agriculture. "The fate of the Zimbabwean people, their past was not easy. Help feed Zimbabweans, help revitalize agriculture," the head of state recalled the words of his Zimbabwean counterpart. - I have promised."
"You should remember: we are separated by considerable distances, but we are always ready to help you, we are ready to accept your help. We are ready to give you a shoulder at any time, in any place, solving the most difficult problems and tasks," assured the Belarusian leader.
Moreover, the Belarusians offered not just equipment, but the whole package - service and even training of specialists. The result is excellent after a year.

"Yesterday, President Mnangagwa sent me a letter saying that they have fed the country, 30 million people. There was no bread there. It is a unique country, the climate is good, we gave technology, techniques, taught them, they provided bread for themselves. In other words, we have not only fed ourselves - we receive more than 7 billion a year from the sale of agricultural products."
