18 апреля 2024

The Belarusian Women's Union today sent a humanitarian cargo for the flood victims in Orenburg.

“These are cots, mattresses, pillows, blankets, hygiene items and clothes. In total 10 tons for the sum of 45 thousand rubles. Women of Belteleradiocompany also took part in the collection of funds for the purchase of necessary things. Enterprises and private business also joined the action. Belarus and the Orenburg region are connected not only by long-standing economic ties, but also by good human relations.”

Olga Shpilevskaya, Chairwoman of the Belarusian Union of Women:

“We appealed to the Belarusian Union of Women. And always our women respond themselves. We don't set any plans how much humanitarian aid to collect. There were no indifferent people. All regions, without exception, joined in and gave as much as they could. Someone donated in cash, and we bought goods here. Someone donated goods. And now the help has been collected, and it will be sent in the near future.”

Tatiana Lugina, chairperson of the NGO "Bellegprom":

“I would like to say that the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus is also ready to get involved, and diving works, and rescue brigade operative is ready with special equipment to leave. Once again I have seen how consolidated our people are when there is a disaster in a particular country or region.”

Already today the car with humanitarian aid will go to Orsk. Further the cargo will be transferred to the centers of accommodation of people from the flooded areas of Orenburg.
