The Holy Fire has been delivered to the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Minsk on May 5 at 9:00 a.m. to the beginning of the Divine Liturgy. This was reported by the head of the Synodal Pilgrimage Department of the BOC Archpriest Alexander Shiriton to the BELTA correspondent.

"This year the airplane from Minsk did not fly to Israel due to the complicated situation in the region. With the blessing of Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslavl Veniamin, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, it was decided to bring the Blessed Fire from Moscow," Alexander Shiriton noted.

The holy relic was delivered in a special lamp, preventing the flame from going out. In the same lamps earlier the Blessed Fire was delivered directly from Jerusalem. The lamp was lit on May 4 at Moscow airport Vnukovo at 23:00 upon the arrival of the delegation of the St. Andrew Foundation from Jerusalem, after which it was brought by transport to Minsk.

According to Archpriest Alexander Shiriton, a letter was sent to all dioceses of the Belarusian Orthodox Church about the time of the arrival of the Blessed Fire in Minsk.

"With the blessing of the ruling bishops of the BOC, representatives of the dioceses of the BOC have arrived in Minsk, who will be able to take the Blessed Fire and take it to their dioceses for the evening festive service. The fire will be distributed to parishioners on the Easter holiday," he said.

The Holy Fire, symbolizing the uncreated light of the Resurrection of Christ, descends annually in the Holy Land in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
