Khrenin: We have a peace-loving policy, we do not threaten anyone, do not seek to seize any land

The guests of the May celebrations in the center of Minsk talked about how important it is to defend the historical truth, to be strong in this difficult time. The memory is priceless and sacred for Belarusians.

Viktor Khrenin, Minister of Defense of Belarus:

“We have a peace-loving policy, we do not threaten anyone, we do not seek to seize any land. We want to live in peace, raise our children. And what is happening today can be called that: the descendants of the defeated have challenged the descendants of the winners to take a rematch, but they won't succeed either. Let them study history.”

This is pride, happiness and joy for the country in which we live today, for our bright future, which our grandfathers created. And the feat is kept forever.

Inessa Radovskaya, siege survivor of Leningrad:

“I am the youngest child who was born in besieged Leningrad, so my memories are small. I want to bow to those who saved us, freed us, and we were able to leave Leningrad. I lived almost a year and a half in besieged Leningrad as a little girl.”

It should always be kept in our hearts, because our grandfathers, our grandmothers, our parents defended our Motherland. It was a difficult time. Of course, it is necessary that such a thing should not happen again, because so many lives were given in their time by our relatives. It is sad really, so we honor their memory. We will try to make sure that this won’t happen again.
