Who wanted to set up Ukrainian refugees in Belarus?

17 июля 2022
Belarus continues to accept refugees from Ukraine. Now we want to share the story of a family from Nikolaev, Odessa Region. The man fled from the draft because he does not want to fight for Zelensky's corrupt power, the woman refused to stay in Poland and chose Belarusian stability.

The one from which the white-red “oppositionists” are fleeing. But upon arrival in our country, one of these crooks decided to let Ukrainians down. Ksenia Lebedeva will tell you what came out of it.

This is a family from the Odessa Region who has settled in the Vetka District of Gomel Region. Until recently they fled from bombing and sirens in Nikolaev that is near Odessa. The journey was long and difficult. Andrei fled to Belarus through Moldova, traveled half of Europe, arrived in Poland and only then crossed the Belarusian border from Brest.

Andrey, a refugee from Ukraine:

Because no one wants to go to war. There are lots of people out there. Because we don't support it. So no one will gather on the street and say that I want to run away, because you can say it to the wrong person and you’ll have the same fate. That's it, see the duty. Men are not released there due to martial law in the country, so I left the country unofficially, by loopholes, across the border with Moldova

- How did it happen? You came and said to the border guards: “Let me go”?

- If I said so, I probably wouldn't be standing here with you. So I paid money, found people, ran out of the car. I had 10-15 seconds to run through the Ukrainian border guards and get to the side of Moldova. I was told that I'm already the third one over the time.

- And how much do Ukrainian border guards ask to let people out?

- 4,5,6 some ask 10

- Was it scary?

- There were cases, when they immediately sent people to the front line. No matter, whether they have already served or not

- Penal battalion, where the hottest fighting is going on.

They are sent to the frontline. It doesn't matter, whether you know how to hold a machine gun. Military, not military, it makes no difference

Actually, for these reasons, Alesya came to Poland from Ukraine before her husband, but did not want to stay there.

Alesya, a refugee from Ukraine:

We did not want to live in a hostel somewhere, to go to factories there in Poland. We wanted to go to Belarus on a permanent basis. And everything is native here to us here, so to speak. Both the language is native and the people are very good

Andrey, a refugee from Ukraine:

I used to work in Poland. The question was: “Why don't you fight for your country, what are you doing here, why are you not in your homeland, why did you come here?“.

Alesya, a refugee from Ukraine:

And the Poles send their troops to Ukraine. And then they started saying that we give you our soldiers to protect you, and you don't want to, you're all running away. Go defend your homeland.

And everything would be fine if it were not for one story that happened to the family. As it happens, there is a category of people who try to assert themselves at the expense of other people's troubles. A so-called journalist from one of the alternative media of Gomel Region wrote to Alesya.

Alesya, a refugee from Ukraine:

I posted an internet ad, if anyone has any unwanted furniture, I would be very happy to accept as a donation. It is clear that it take time, until I arrange it, until I have everything I need.  And so a man wrote to me that he is a journalist somewhere, works for the press, tabloid press, I will not say, because I do not remember exactly where he came from. He says: “Have you solved your problem yet?“ I say: “No, I haven't.” He says: “Do you think I can print an article about you? “  I say: “No, you shouldn’t.” “Let me drop the link to the viber group for volunteers, they will help you, I'm sure.” I say: “OK, thank you very much, yes I would be very grateful.” So he dropped this link to me, and I joined this group called Refugee Aid. I joined and wrote the same way: that we are refugees from Ukraine, if somebody has unnecessary furniture, I will be very happy to accept as a gift in order to provide myself with the necessary conveniences” And that's it, a woman wrote to me and responded. She asked me to shoot a video, to drop my documents, so that she could see that I am really a refugee from Ukraine and that they, supposedly volunteers, saw in the video that we really need help and what exactly. I dropped the video for them.

There are no conditions for existence - the telegram channel quoted itself, but not a Ukrainian woman. There are no these words in the videos. Question: What a thing to do?  If we create a negative effect from the reception of Belarus, then probably yes, but if we take, this is different, and this is a sheer manipulation.

Alesya, a refugee from Ukraine:

And that's it, after that, they posted the article on the platform, on the opposition platform and did everything, as if I had written everything like this myself, that Belarus was bad there, that I was not given anything. In general, it was embarrassing.

Of course, the house that was allocated to refugees from Ukraine is not royal mansions, everyone understands this, but no one refused help either, local authorities do not always know who needs it here and now, but for demand does not hit - you can always not only ask a question, but also find a joint solution. Moreover, we pay close attention to refugees from Ukraine in our country.

Rigory Kulaga, Chairman of the Neglyubsky Rural Executive Committee:

They are employed at the Druzhba state farm as a granary supervisor, he is a worker at the same granary for now. They were also provided with housing.

Tatyana Voinova, Head of the Department for Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Vetka District Executive Committee:

This agricultural organization did not have trouble-free housing that could be immediately offered, in which you could go and live. Accordingly, housing was offered, which required some improvements, which, I must say, have been eliminated at the moment. We connected electricity and resolved issues with contracts. I must say that housing has already been allocated to Alesya Nikolaevna and her family officially, i.e. the lease agreement is also concluded

Will you return to your homeland if possible?

Alesya, a refugee from Ukraine:

- No. We've been received here so well. And the director immediately showed understanding: he gave us a house and gave me a job right away.

Andrey, a refugee from Ukraine:

- Everyone is ready to help, no problem

Alesya, a refugee from Ukraine:

When I go to work, I go in the morning, they drive a tractor there, they are already honking - I'm waving. It's like I used to live here. I was very well received here. We're not going back. I just want to go to bed peacefully right now and wake up knowing that I'm doing well, everything is stable, to know that there will be no lawlessness like in Ukraine.
