Victory parade held on Red Square in Moscow

9 мая 2024

Soviet people won the Great Victory and gave us the right to independence, so May 9 is our common holiday.

The Belarusian leader shared the joy of the Great Victory with the presidents of the post-Soviet countries today. In Moscow, there was a parade on Red Square, which is a tradition that the heroes laid in the victorious year of 1945. And even the snow that fell from the sky time and again could not extinguish the fiery hearts of the participants of this action.

The parade started at exactly 10:00. Of course, the weather was not very spring-like - minus one, but nevertheless the atmosphere on Red Square was special: the first Victory Parade was held here in 1945, but on June 24.

The Minister of Defense was the first to report on the readiness of the troops. A unique historical fact: from Red Square in November 1941, after the military parade, when the front line was only 18 kilometers from Moscow, the soldiers left to defend the capital.

The today's parade involved more than 9 thousand people, 75 units of equipment, a solemn procession of honor guards, battalions and companies of various troops of the armed forces. It should be understood that you can't buy tickets to the parade in Moscow - there are only invitees. Veterans were on the central podium - they are the main heroes, there are not so many of these people left.

Sergey Neverov, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of Russia:

“It is important for everyone to preserve the memory of the Great Patriotic War, the Victory, the feat of our fathers, our grandfathers. We are brotherly peoples - Belarus and Russia. We went through this war together.”
