The main merit of the parliamentarians of the outgoing convocation is their help in preserving stability and peace in Belarus. This was stated by the President at the meeting with the deputies and senators who are completing their work.

Tomorrow they will be replaced by the new 8th convocation of the National Assembly. And today, by tradition, the results of the parliament's work over the past five years are summarized. Alexander Lukashenko's assessment is high. The deputy corps has demonstrated reliability and loyalty to the Belarusian people a t a critical moment for the country (when time was testing the strength of our nation). It is impossible to overestimate it. But the parliamentarians did not fail. They proved that they are worthy of their high title of people's elected representatives. They coped with pressure and threats, showed a constructive attitude, helped to defend national interests.

"Both chambers acted in concert, in close contact with the government, other state bodies and always built their work based on the interests of the Belarusian people," Alexander Lukashenko said.
He stated that people saw it and drew conclusions from the events that took place both in Belarus and around the world.
