Throughout the entire space mission, Alexander Lukashenko was directly involved and provided all possible support to ensure that the first Belarusian space flight took place. And it was accomplished. Belarus has confirmed its status of a space power!
The first emotions after the return of the crew were shared by the head of state. ATN correspondents managed to record a short interview right after the hockey match, in which the President's team played.
"Emotions are the heaviest. Because the night was sleepless. I watched live the undocking of the descent vehicle," the President said.
When asked by the journalist whether he was worried, Alexander Lukashenko replied: "When your children are in space, you will understand what a citizen of Belarus in space means. Of course, my responsibility is that if, God forbid, something happens, it's all your fault. So, of course, I am glad that everything is all right. I've rewatched the footage several times. I'm very happy that it's over. And I thought to myself, "Well, I'm not going to play this game anymore."
