The observer mission of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization adheres to impartiality and objectivity. This was stated by Deputy Secretary General of the SCO, head of the Observer Mission Nurlan Yermekbayev after a meeting with Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Belarus Igor Karpenko.

The SCO Observer Mission in our country will assess the election process in terms of compliance with international treaties and obligations, as well as national electoral legislation. The mission does not interfere in internal affairs and maintains the principle of political neutrality. This corresponds to one of the fundamental tasks of the SCO - to ensure human rights and freedoms, taking into account the requirements of the legislation of each member state of the organization.

Nurlan Yermekbayev, Deputy Secretary General of the SCO, Head of the Observer Mission:

As of yesterday, all members of the mission have already arrived in Minsk, the first organizational meeting was held, tasks and work plan were defined. The members of the mission have been divided into groups, and the areas to be visited have been assigned to them. I would like to note that we determine the sites ourselves, and there are certain moments of surprise here.

The bilateral meetings with guests from Russia have been finalized today. For example, the unified voting day has been held there for quite a long time. According to Nikolai Bulayev, Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Russia, the experience of the unified voting day has already shown that the unified voting day has been organized for quite a long time.
