Press secretary of the President of Belarus Natalia Eismont stressed that there are a lot of people wishing to get to an interview with Alexander Lukashenko.
"The number of requests is due to the fact that our journalists and journalists of other countries understand very well that our President is very open. Maybe in 2023 it will surprise few people, but we realize that our President has always been like this. I can speak about it with absolute certainty. Hundreds of interviews, press approaches, big press conferences. The President has been and remains extremely honest with his journalists," said Natalia Eismont.
She also recalled an unusual case. "Once we received a very interesting request, I reported to the head of state about it, and there was a very clear and quite sharp topic. And the President replied to me as follows: "Please tell them that I will talk to them, but I will speak only as it is, not what they want to hear". This is the principled position of our leader. Everyone knows that this is how any interview with our President is structured. We cannot satisfy all requests, and probably we don't need to. We try to fill the agenda with a variety of interviews," the press secretary emphasized.
