Speaking about the achievements of sovereign Belarus at the VII Belarusian People's Congress, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko emphasized that Belarusians have never lived so well as they do now, BelTA informs.

Belarusians are a strong nation, said the President. And to preserve this status, we need to become even stronger. A strong economy, which is a consequence of the right geopolitical choice, is at the top of the list, emphasized the head of state.

Alexander Lukashenko reminded about the aphorism about the Soviet past, which was born amid the devastation of the 1990s: "Those who applauded liberal reforms (in our country, too), praised the Soviet system, suddenly had an epiphany and began to remember how well we lived badly.

"So that we don't have to say the same about our time, comparing it to some humanitarian catastrophe, let's face it: we have never lived as well as we do now," the President said. - Of course, we could have lived better, but we don't have what we have in the Emirates and Russia (the same natural resources, BELTA note). We admit that we should not rush into revolutionary transformations. This is not why we led our people away from the abyss a third of a century ago. And we did.

Now real money incomes of Belarusians are 10 times higher than in the mid-1990s. "I know what reaction to this thesis will be. Some people will say that 10 times in 30 years is not so much.
